1926-Rolls-Royce-Silver Ghost 'Warwick'

1926 Rolls-Royce 45/50hp Silver Ghost 'Warwick' Town Car with open front compartment.Coachwork by BrewsterRegistration no. DS 6498Chassis no. S165MLEngine no. 20655For only $179,500 New Price: $165,000This Springfield-built, left-hand drive Silver Ghost's first owner was none other than William Brewster, head of the firm responsible for its body. By the time this car was made it had become apparent that left-hand drive was essential for the North American market, an alteration to the Ghost chassis that necessitated the adoption of a new three-speed gearbox with central change. Four-wheel brakes likewise had come to be seen as a necessity rather than an indulgence, though the American version used the New Phantom front axle together with a Westinghouse vacuum booster rather than the British Ghost's mechanical servo. 'S165ML' was the test chassis for this modification, which remains in place to this day.In 1927 'S165ML' passed to its second owner, Mrs Mary Dahlgren Robinson of Rye, New York and in the 1950s was owned in Abington, Pennsylvania by two members of the Schaub family. The next owner listed in the accompanying records is one Duncan Merryweather of Chester Springs, PA followed by Otto C Kohler of South Hadley, Massachusetts and then E Andrew Mowbray of Lincoln, Rhode Island, who was the owner when an article about the car was published in the Veteran Motor Car Club of America's journal 'Bulb Horn' (November/December 1978 edition, copy available). Its next change of ownership would see 'S165ML' return to the UK, where it found a new home with Jack Bradley of Glasgow in 1979. Mr Bradley kept the Rolls-Royce until August 2009 when he sold it to the Real Car Co, from whom it was purchased by the current vendor in June 2010. The tappets were set by Alan Glew in July 2010 and he pronounced the engine healthy, and the owner drove the car approximately 1,500 miles that year. Outings included taking the Silver Ghost to the GRRC members' enclosure at the Goodwood Revival meeting where it was greatly admired.Finished in black and retaining its original body, paintwork and patinated interior, the car is offered with the aforementioned chassis cards and magazine article, and comes with current MoT/tax and Swansea V5C document. A late Springfield Silver Ghost with four-wheel brakes and Warwick town car coachwork, 'S165ML' represents the ultimate in Vintage motoring and is a possible 'Conservation Class' Pebble Beach concours contender, being remarkably correct and unmolested and yet eminently drivable and usable.

A true S, is an very rare find. This California car is believed to have had only three owners all from the Bay Area since 1972. The paint is quite serviceable and while it has some minor cracks and imperfections, is consistent with the patina of the rest of the car. The interior is beautiful original red leather and even the dash is still nice and original. The body, including door, hood and boot fit is extremely nice, and undisturbed, and being from San Francisco free of the normal rust the plagues low production Italian exotics. The 73,543 total kilometers (45,965 miles) are correct, and the car comes with the tool roll and jack and bag together with the manual and shop manual. The car sounds and runs well, however there is a breach from a combustion chamber somewhere as it starts to get hot during a short drive, and is also getting moisture into the oil. This can be caused by a leaking head gasket, or a crack in a casting, and will require immediate repair prior to use. The motor however, runs and sounds great. Gearbox, clutch and suspension feel good. AC blows, but not cold. With the heating situation solved, this would be a great car to just leave alone and enjoy. Price: $139,500

1952-Nash-Healey

1952 Nash Healey Cabriolet: A California Car from NewWith only 150 Nash Cabriolets built in 1952, this is a very rare vehicle. The superb Pininfarina Coachwork is one of the finest of the period, and shows the cars true Italian heritage. Around 1963 the second owner commissioned Hollywood Sportscars to install a 3.8 Jaguar engine with Moss gearbox. The chassis was also professionally modified to accept the full front and rear jaguar independent suspension components, thus the car now sports fully independent suspension front and rear with 4 wheel disc braking. The overall statement this Nash makes, is that of a highly original car with perfect gaps, original paint, and straight panels. Years of dry indoor storage means the body and chrome still retain their original shine and luster. It wears newly refinished interior with Connelly leather and Wilton wool carpets. There is also a new top and side curtains. Its rare to see a low production alloy paneled car to be free of any kind of stress cracks. The car features a full matching set of Jaguar chrome wire wheels, and still has it's period Avon tires. The car benefits from having been a California car all of it's life and in constant dry storage since new. It's been under the same ownership from 1962-2014. Here is a unique opportunity to acquire an "otherwise" unmolested Nash Healey which still sports it's Factory lacquer paint. Price: $79,500.

1953-Bentley-R-Type

This 1953 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback by H.J. Mulliner is an undisputed icon of British motoring and one of the all-time great Bentley models. Built in extremely limited numbers, these high-performance grand touring cars attracted an elite clientele that included royalty, celebrities, and captains of industry. This car, BC10LB, is certainly no exception, as Ian Fleming, creator of the James Bond series, ordered this Bentley for his friend and collaborator Ivar Bryce. Bryce, a fascinating figure in his own right, worked for the British Security Coordination during World War II and was the inspiration for Flemings character Felix Leiter. Originally finished in Deep Grey and specified as a left-hand drive, manual gearbox car with fender spats and lightweight seats, Bryces R-Type Continental was equipped with bespoke features such as fitted luggage and a racehorse mascot. Recently discovered in a Hollywood, California garage, where it had been hidden away for over three decades, this unrestored R-Type Continental is the most exciting and important post-war Bentley to come to market in a generation. -The Most Significant Bentley Discovery in Recent Memory-Desirably Equipped with Left-Hand Drive, Manual Gearbox, and Lightweight Seats-Exceptional Provenance with Ties to James Bond Creator Ian Fleming-California Black-Plate Car Retaining Original Interior and Matching-Numbers Engine-First class winner at the 1971 Concours d'Elegance.-Has been sitting in a garage in California for the last 40 years.-An Ideal Restoration Candidate Price: $ 1,350,000

1963 Maserati Sebring Series I: One of only 348 Series I examples producedPart of a museum collection for many years, this Vignale-designed classic is one of only 348 Series I examples produced. Red with black interior. This particular car has a very solid body and chassis, with virtually no visible rust and every indication that floor pans and other underbody sheet metal are factory original. It runs and drives but the engine will need rebuilding. As was common practice for these vehicles, the original, notoriously unreliable Lucas fuel injection has been replaced with triple Weber carbs. Has original wire wheels and working power windows. Both exterior and interior are cosmetically very presentable. Don't miss the rare opportunity to acquire an icon of '60's Italian design. Chassis No: AM101/01585Price: $169,500

1972 Ferrari 365GTC/4 CoupeChassis No. 15655One of only 500 units produced from 1971-1972, 45,000 Recorded Miles believed to be Original, Factory Delivered in Rare Oro Kelso (Gold) Paint, Documented with Marcel Massini history report, Great Sounding Engine and Driving Feel!Chassis 15655 was completed in June of 1972 as a U.S. version, LHD, with air conditioning and instruments in miles. The car originally wore Oro Kelso (gold) paint, a rare and unusual color from the Pininfarina special colors chart, over black leather upholstery - Delivered new to official Ferrari dealer Chinetti-Garthwaite in Paoli, PA. The C/4 was under care of the original owner until the very late 1970's, when it exchanged hands and exterior paint color. It subsequently transferred ownerships as recorded through Marcel Massini's history report, ultimately ending up in southern California and New Mexico, now red in color. Presently, the Coupe reads just over 45,000 original miles, which are believed to be original, as is the cabin's gorgeous black leather upholstery, glass, trim and accessories. The underside appears nicely detailed and in original condition, along with the engine bay and luggage compartment. An original knockoff spanner resides in the rear compartment. As one of just 500 units produced between 1971 and 1972, this example is offered with known ownership and desirable original colors. A recent service was performed with new distributor, plugs and wire and a compression test was performed with good results of 160 PSI per cylinder.Ferrari 365 GTC/4s are now recognized as an impressive value with lasting appeal. They offer wonderful grand touring capability with the exhilarating performance of the 340-horsepower V-12 engine - a true gentleman's sports car.For only $249,500.00

1953-Porsche-356

1953 PORSCHE 356 PRE-A CABRIOLETIn accordance with the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this charming 1953 Porsche 356 Pre-A Cabriolet was completed on June 23rd, 1953. The car was originally ordered in Fashion Grey, paint code C531B with a red leather interior and comfort seats, and optioned as a USA deluxe model. It was one of just 394 Cabriolets built in 1953. The original 1500cc engine has been replaced with a later unit that appears to be a 1960 model year 1600 Super engine, an upgrade that would have added over 30% to the car's initial horsepower rating. The Kardex reads that the new Porsche had been ordered by a company called Cattaneo in California, but also logs a 700-mile service as being performed in September of 1953, presumably at a Porsche dealership located in Paris, France. One could assume that the first owner of the car took delivery in Europe and used it there before shipping it stateside. In July 1990, the car appeared for sale on the 356 Registry out of Atherton, California. At the time of the listing, the car was still in its correct colors. The car was in comedian Bill Cosby's collection at some point. Today, this rare Pre-A Cabriolet presents beautifully inside and out, and it is apparent that a comprehensive restoration has been performed on the car. The exterior paint is nice and glossy, and the wheels are color-coded to match. Fit and finish is very good throughout. The brightwork and trim has also been restored, and presents very well. The interior is adorned in beautiful red upholstery, and is topped off with a beautiful, dash-mounted, correct radio and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The compartments have been refurbished, and display correct satin-finish black paint and correct decals and emblems. A black cloth soft top is fitted. The Cabriolet is offered with a tool set, the Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the original build record. These early Pre-A Porsches are very scarce today, as few cars were ever built in the first place. They feature an incredibly clean and uncluttered design, from the low body-colored bumpers to the elegant beehive tail lights. This fine example looks much like it did when it left the Porsche Works in 1953, and would be equally at home on twisty backroads or on a concours lawn.Chassis no. 60157 Engine no.
1961-COOPER MONACO-MARK III SPORTS-RACING

1961 COOPER MONACO MARK III SPORTS-RACING TWO-SEATERThis effectively Mark II bodied all coil-sprung Cooper Monaco Mark III is equipped with a full 2.7-liter Indy version of the illustrious Coventry Climax FPF 4-cylinder racing engine, in this case one which is recalled by a very experienced former owner of the car as having been a very special FPF indeed, one of the strongest Ive ever experienced. We understand that this power unit was taken, in fact, from the ex-Scuderia Filipinetti 4-cylinder Formula 1 Eagle, which infers that the engine was in fact one of the very special FPFs built up by Dan Gurneys Anglo-American Racing (AAR) Formula 1 team at the outset of its World Championship campaign and career in 1966 pending delivery of its first full 3-liter Formula 1 Westlake V12 engines. This car is regarded as a genuinely Cooper-built Monaco still retaining its original chassis, which was probably one of the very last Monacos of its type ever to leave the Cooper factory. It was originally equipped with a pointed fin 1961-type Monaco Mark III bodyshell but may not have been completed in 1961 as a running car. Our research indicates that it was probably retained, as an uncompleted chassis/body unit stored away by a former Cooper Car Company employee. From him it passed eventually to that wonderful character, British specialist racing car and prototype bodywork manufacturer, Mo Gomm of Old Woking, Surrey, from whom it was acquired by respected Cooper specialist Sid Hoole. He completed the car to running order fitting the broadly Mark II bodywork it still boasts today, and from him it passed to John Harper one of the most successful, longest-serving and best known driver/dealers in British Historic racing. Harper fitted it with the 2.7-liter engine, which, by common consent, has performed in spectacular manner. An incredibly rare race car.Price: $279,500

1951-Bentley-Park Ward Coupe RHD

1951 Bentley Park Ward Coupe RHDThis 1951 Bentley Park Ward Coupe RHD is an absolutely lovely car wearing a quality older restoration that has held up very well over the years. Grey and burgundy with grey connolly hides. This fixed-head-coupe is Design no 147. Park Ward made only 34 examples of this design. Structurally solid with excellent door-fit, chassis B398MD is a straight and clean example just out of long-term 40 year ownership. Mechanically superb, the coupe fires right up and runs strong and quiet. The older paint job still shows very nicely as does the chrome and interior wood. A very good car that exudes honesty and integrity. This Bentley has clearly been loved and cared for throughout its lifetime and it shows. A great addition to any collection and a fantastic car to drive and be seen in. Price: $79,500

1984-Ferrari-512BBi

1984 Ferrari 512BBi Black on Black 27k MilesAmong the final run of 512BBi's built, this car was shipped from Maranello directly to authorized Ferrari dealership Steven Kessler Motor Cars of New York City on April 3rd, 1984. The Ferrari was homologated to US-spec and approved by the EPA and DOT before being sold to its first owner, Michael Sherman of Brooklyn, New York, who had ordered this very rare and aggressive color combination of black on black. The second owner of the car was one Robert Hufferman Jr. from Mooresville, North Carolina who kept the Ferrari until 2002 when it found its way to the garage of Ferrari collector Eugene Hammer of Savannah, Georgia on December 16th, 2002. During Hammer's ownership, records show a 15k mile major service that included replacing the clutch, repairing air conditioning system, and replacing the brakes was completed on the car with 14,556 miles showing on the odometer. Samuel Ryder of Miami became the next keeper of the car. While in his care, engine-out service was completed by Tim Stanford including belt servicing. The next owner was Zaire Vere from Dubai, Emirates who imported through Ferrari of Dubai. The 512 was then serviced July 2015 including belts, clutch, new tires, fuel line and battery at a cost of $16,500. Complete with service history from new, this 512bbi still has its original selling dealer's service books stamped with the appropriate mechanical work that has been carried out, original books, leather Ferrari pouch, tools, jack, keys, and wheel knock-off spinner hammer. Showing just a touch over 27k miles on the clock, it is a near concours example of Ferrari's great flat-12 sports cars. With a rising tide of interest in these cars, they certainly aren't becoming easier to obtainespecially examples as nice as this one. $269,500

1949-Delahaye-Type 135M Cabriolet

1949 Delahaye Type 135M Cabriolet by FranayThis wonderfully preserved 1949 Delahaye Type 135M Cabriolet by Franay has exceptional original patina and comes offered to potential new ownership with incredibly well researched/documented historya truly remarkable Pebble Beach Concours dElegance veteran with the option of continued preservation or restorationThis survivor 1949 Delahaye Type 135M Cabriolet by Franay is striking today in its well aged, exceptionally lovely patina that shows wear throughout but a clear sense that it has not been overrun by time. The car has always been stored indoors under cloth materials in the warmth of California where it has spent the vast majority of its life. There is almost no rust to speak of anywhere including the undercarriage, which further speaks to the care it has been shown in storage. The paint on the car is well patinad and in some spots flaking or checking, but the vast majority of the car remains bright, full of life and presents very well. The chrome enjoys the same story as the paint, perhaps it has been redone from original in spots, but it shows extremely well. The interior of the car is clearly original and extremely well patinad. The dash is in exceptional condition, all instruments are clean, functioning and looking exceptional for an extremely original car that is approaching 70 years of age. The seats and leather throughout are cracked in spots and slightly torn in others, but worn nature adds further to the appeal of the originality seen throughout. Overall, the interior is a highly original, easy on the eyes for the preservation enthusiast and almost entirely correct. The car runs exceptionally well under power of its original motor. The engine bay is very fresh looking and is as original aside from the caveat of Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The car drives precisely as it should. The undercarriage is well cleaned, detailed and extremely original with no rust issues. Showing only 3700kms at present, the mileage may perhaps be original. If the car is indeed an original 3700km example, it would likely be the lowest mileage Delahaye in the world today. This 135M Delahaye by Franay is a true delight for the preservation enthusiast and could also be an extremely original example worthy of restoration. It is an extraordinary example of a well stored California car brought back to an extremely original condition by true enthusiasts who took great pride in reinvigorating its lost luster and history for the classic car public to enjoy. The car is a show quality preservation candidate and is accident free, rust free and a truely rich experience to drive. It is, in a marque known for being particularly difficult to trace provenance, as well accounted for a 135M Delahaye in existence and is preserved as highly original. Firm $ 289,500

1967-Maserati-Mexico

Rare and Original 1967 Maserati Mexico 4.2 This 1967 Maserati Mexico is a very original matching numbers example. Bronze with black leather interior, this Mexico is a very honest and solid car that's been sitting for several years awaiting a straightforward recommissioning. This 4.2 liter Mexico is equipped with the desirable five-speed manual gearbox and Borrani wire wheels. The Mexico debuted at the 1966 Turin Motor Show effectively replacing the six-cylinder four-seater Sebring model.
1959-MG-A Twin-Cam

This 1959 MG A Twin-Cam is an extremely exciting car wearing a well documented frame-off restoration. It has taken many show Firsts and comes accompanied by documents, restoration photos, MG Club magazine articles, and awards. Orient Red with black leather and black top, this highly sought after Twin-Cam MGA is a fantastic car that's ready to drive and enjoy. It's in excellent condition overall with stunning paint, chrome, and interior. Mechanically the car is incredibly well-sorted and ready for immediate use. MG introduced the twin cam MGA in 1958. With 108 horsepower, this top-of-the-line offering was equipped with Dunlop center lock alloy wheels and 4-wheel Dunlop power disc brakes. Performance was increased dramatically with a top speed of 110 mph and many were raced at tracks around the world. This particular example was purchased in 1994 by Don Haynam, a well-known Indianapolis British car enthusiast. Don spent almost a year stripping his twin cam down to its bare chassis and then building it back up again, fully rebuilding the rare twin cam engine. Nut-and-bolt restoration in the 1990s by the late noted MG expert Don Haynam. Restored to a very high standard, the car is believed to retain its original engine and is finished in its original Orient Red over black interior. It is completely sorted and ready to drive. Production of this LHD Twin Cam was completed on March 31, 1959 in Orient Red over black. The paint shines nicely despite being almost 20 years old, evidence of a car that has been garaged and well-maintained. Much of the restoration work was completed by Nationwide Auto Restoration in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with most parts sourced from Moss Motors in California. The engine bay is tidy with correct dual SU carbs, red block finish and bare metal cam covers. Steering, suspension, and brakes operate well. Only 2,1111 Twin Cams were produced, and this one is a very correct example. Offered in superb condition throughout with 28,716 recorded miles.Price: $67,500

Lost and Found: 1962 Maserati 3500GT: Ultra-Rare Factory Configuration (Carbureted, 5-Speed, Disc Brakes)This 1962 Maserati 3500GT left the factory carbureted, with a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes. Only a handful of 3500GTs were built in this configuration. A lifelong black plate California car just extracted from barn storage where its been sitting quietly and undisturbed since 1978. Ivory with red leather interior and just one owner since 1967. An incredibly original matching numbers car and offered in an extremely rare factory combination. This is the very best car you can restore being a 5-speed carbureted, disc brake model. If you're a Maserati collector or enthusiast, you will not find a better restoration candidate. The chance to own such a car is very likely a once in a lifetime opportunity. To find another un-restored original 3500GT with these three specifications and one that can be restored to your own standards is likely impossible, making this example an undeniably exciting discovery.Price: $225,000

1979-Ferrari-308 GTS

1979 Ferrari 308GTS Chassis No. 30427 -December 1979 production, making it one of the latest and most collectible carbureted models-14,200 actual miles-Matching numbers-Wearing original colors-A two owner California car In the mid-1970s everyone was on the lookout for Ferraris replacement for the Dino. Ferrari engaged Pininfarina design legend, Leonardo Fioravanti, to breathe life into what is now one of Ferraris most iconic shapes. The gorgeous design was an instant hit at the 1975 Paris Motor Show and would survive in fundamental form to grace the legendary 288 GTO. Underneath, a sophisticated 3 liter 4 cam Weber-carbureted V-8 provided the power accompanied by an impressive soundtrack all the way to 7,700 rpm. Much as the DB5 Aston Martin became associated with James Bond, the 308 GTS gained fame in its own right starring with Tom Selleck in the Magnum PI television series. The 308 GTS was built for only three years with just 3,219 of the most desirable carbureted examples being produced before being replaced in 1980 with the 308 GTSi featuring fuel injection which sacrificed 26 horsepower and lost the fantastic burbling sound of the four Weber carburetors. Today, the V-8 Ferrari market continues to grow as enthusiasts and collectors recognize the open-topped carbureted 308 GTS as the most desirable and collectible of all Ferrari V8s.The matching numbers carbureted example offered here is finished in its original Ferrari color combination of white with black leather interior. As a GTS, it features a removable Targa top but also includes refinements such as air conditioning and power windows. This car is in top-performance specification with its original emissions equipment. The car is not currently running as it has been sitting and requires a major service including cam-belt replacement, after that this 308 GTS is ready to be enjoyed. This is a two owner California car that has a documented 14,080 original miles. In 1980 it was sold to the second owner who mildly flared the wings and added deep dish Ferrari wheels making it like the Group B racing series of the early 1980s. The leather is all original, and not damaged. There are hairline cracks in the modifications to the wheel arches. Enthusiasts and collectors recognize the excellence and beauty of the design of this car. A straightforward recommissioning will result in a pristine 14k original mile example. This is quite the opportunity for this Ferraris next lucky owner. Price: $46,500

1931-Rolls Royce-Phantom I

1931 ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM I REGENT CONVERTIBLE COUPECoachwork by Brewster & Co.1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Regent Convertible CoupeCoachwork by Brewster & Co.Chassis no. Mr. Brichetto was clearly a man of great taste and means, and had the car delivered to him at The Hotel St. Francis, in downtown San Francisco. The car remained in his ownership until his death in 1934. The car dropped out of sight but remained in Northern California. After the war the car was in the ownership of Mr. Rafe Selfridge, a member of Selfridge family, founders of Selfridge department stores in London, England. In the late 1950s Mr. Selfridge sold the car to his friend John Maxfield. Mr. Maxfield embarked on a fairly epic journey driving the Rolls from Barstow, CA to Gainesville, Florida. It is believed that it was in Maxfield's ownership that the car was repainted and fitted with its current upholstery. Mr. Maxfield continued to enjoy the car until 1973 when it passed to a fellow CCCA member Carter Farrar of Lakewood, Colorado. Mr. Farrar retained the car until his passing in 1998, when it was then sold on to Mr. Elliot Grossman in New York, who retained the car until 2012. Today the car is in good order. It presents very well and with a great deal of patina and charm. As it was when new, the great characteristic of this style of coachwork is its versatility. Capable of offering full open motoring to breeze along in the sunshine, with none of the elegance of the car impeded, or proper isolation from the elements on colder or wetter days, this Phantom I can do it all. Anyone who has ever driven a well set up Phantom I will tell you that they are great tour cars. The 7.7 liter engine provides an overabundance of torque which makes them delightfully easy to drive. This engine is of course paired with a wonderful chassis with servo assisted brakes, and the exquisite deftness and precision of all the controls make the Phantom I one of the best driving experiences from the prewar era.Price: $167,500
