Introduced for 1962 and produced through 1970, Buicks Wildcat exemplified full-size performance, Buick style with plenty of class, luxury, and the power to humble many more overt performance cars with ease. While the 1962 Wildcat was a subseries of the Invicta Sport Coupe, the Wildcat was a unique Buick series from 1963 to 1970. While aimed at the performance-minded owner/driver, the Wildcat would include four body styles from 1963 through 1970, including 2- and 4-door sedan, and glamorous convertible. Chiseled bodylines, luxurious interiors, and restrained bright trim suggestive of power and speed defined Wildcats throughout their run, backed up by a succession of large-displacement Buick engines. By 1967, Buick unveiled new engines offering the same or greater power and easier maintenance than the prior Nailhead designs. For its part, the Wildcat was powered in 1967 by a 430 cubic-inch powerplant belting out 360 factory-rated horsepower on tap.

Continuing to epitomize America's fine-car market during the early 1930s, Packard's Eleventh Series continues to rank among the company's finest. Debuted in August 1933, they featured a wide range of handsomely styled bodies combining Raymond Dietrich's foundational design established in 1930 with masterfully streamlined updates penned by Alexis de Sakhnoffsky. Beautifully skirted fenders and V-shaped radiator grilles enhanced the style and grace of the Eleventh Series Packard Models and numerous mechanical updates delivered an outstanding drive with greater ease of operation. Positioned between the Eight and Twelve lines in Packard's model hierarchy, the Super Eight was offered three ways including Model 1103 on the 134-7/8 wheelbase, Model 1104 on the 141-7/8 wheelbase chassis and Model 1105 on the 146-7/8 wheelbase chassis. Ample power was delivered by Packard's whisper-quiet 385 CI inline eight-cylinder engine developing 145 BHP. Just 1,920 Super Eights of all models and body styles were built for model year 1934.
Sporting an extremely rare and dashing 2-Passenger Coupe body style, this 1934 Packard Super Eight is a splendid example throughout, having been formerly part of the Academy of Art University collection in San Francisco, world-famous for housing the most stylish automobiles ever devised. Delivered new to Packard dealer Thompson Motor Co. in Beverly Hills, California on November 17, 1933, the glamorous Packard Super Eight with its visually striking 2-Passenger Coupe body must surely have captivated all onlookers, even the fashion-conscious glitterati of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.
Subsequently based over the long term on the West Coast, this rakish and sporty Super Eight Coupe clearly continues to benefit from a well-preserved and attractive older restoration. Colors are excellent, including Maroon paint over Black leather upholstery, accented by richly grained wooden accents. The Art Deco-influenced instrument panel is a work of art in itself, featuring a Packard radiator motif and fitted with large-diameter gauges including a 120-mph speedometer with odometer and trip odometer, plus instruments monitoring fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery charging, plus a Waltham 8-day clock. Outside, desirable period accessories include Packard's signature Cormorant radiator mascot, a large single Trippe Safety Light and 1934 Oregon registration plates, chrome cooling louvers, twin side mounted spares with steel cases and Packard See Rite scripted chrome mirrors, a built-in rear trunk, a golf club door, and fold-down auxiliary luggage rack. Period style Whitewall tires surround Red painted wire-spoke wheels with chrome rims and Packard Super Eight-scripted hubcaps.

As the foundation of General Motors, Buick has consistently led America's auto industry throughout its long history with outstanding engineering, power, and prestige. During the 1930s, Buick competed head-on with Packard, and by 1938, Buick president Harlow "Red" Curtice even had fellow GM division Cadillac in his sights. The Roadmaster was key to this strategy, introduced in 1936 and applied to Buick's top models through 1957. This 1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Coupe is an outstanding example from the last model year for the winning 1942-48 body design. Handsomely finished in 2-tone Cumulus Gray and Sunmist Gray, it is accented by the Gray cloth interior with striking Blue pinstripe accents. Power is delivered by Buick's renowned inline 8-cylinder "Fireball Dynaflash" engine, factory-rated at 150 HP, matched with a rare optional Buick "Dynaflow" automatic transmission. For 1934, Chrysler Corporation shocked the automotive world with its all-new, radically streamlined Airflow body design, featuring industry-leading and extremely strong, all-steel unit-body construction. A design far ahead of its time, the Airflow featured built-in headlamps and an attractively flowing "waterfall" grille up front, an extended-length hood, a modified V-shaped windshield, and sleek, fully skirted rear fenders. Passenger comfort was second to none with the Airflow's wide, comfortable seats placed inside the car's wheelbase. Extra-long leaf springs placed front and rear enhanced the Airflow's low ground clearance, delivering remarkable ease of entry and exit. Lockheed 4-wheel hydraulic brakes delivered industry-leading stopping power, while many competing marques still relied on old-fashioned mechanical brakes. Other highly desirable Airflow features included an ignition lock, full instrumentation, a brake lamp, steering-hub headlamp controls, an automatic windshield wiper, oil filter, and overdrive.
However, despite the many quantum leaps offered by the new Airflow models in terms of efficiency and passenger safety, wary Depression-era buyers failed to respond in the numbers Chrysler anticipated. Consequently, sales were underwhelming and the original Airflow design was no more after 1936. However, today's collectors deeply appreciate the many contributions made by the Airflow's designers and engineers to the automobile and the cars are now highly sought-after.
Rare as 1 of just 1,584 5-Passenger DeSoto Airflow Coupes built for the inaugural 1934 model year, this multiple award-winning body-off-frame restoration has earned multiple Best of Show awards between 2019 and 2023, including Best of Show and People's Choice at the 2019 National DeSoto Convention. Rightly considered an icon of American industry, Walter P. Chrysler formed his self-named automotive marque from the ashes of the Maxwell-Chalmers merger in 1923. Beginning with a 70-horsepower Six built at the former Chalmers plant in Detroit, the new Chrysler debuted at New York's Commodore Hotel in January 1924. Featuring hydraulic brakes, a tubular front axle, aluminum pistons, and full-pressure lubrication, the new Chrysler represented the best and latest thinking in automobile design at introduction a tradition that would continue throughout company history. Delivering strong performance at a medium price point, Chrysler enjoyed immediate success with 32,000 produced by the end of 1924.
In addition to their remarkable performance and durability, further attention was generated by new hill climb and speed records set by Indy legend Ralph De Palma with the new Chrysler in 1924 and 1925, establishing a stellar motorsports record that continues today. International acclaim came in 1925 when famed British record-setter Sir Malcolm Campbell hit 100 mph at Brooklands with a streamlined Chrysler. The company's first 24 Hours of Le Mans entries came in 1928, the year Chrysler acquired Dodge Brothers, with Chryslers finishing a credible 3rd and 4th in class, followed by 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the Belgian 24-hour Grand Prix fabulous results for such a young company on its maiden outings. That enviable competition record continued in earnest with a succession of events through the early 1930s, including the debut of a Chrysler-powered entry at the 1930 Indianapolis 500. In 1931, Billy Arnold, the 1930 Indy 500 champion, set several stock-car racing records at Daytona behind the wheel of a Chrysler.
At the turn of the 1930s, Chrysler introduced the mighty Imperial Eight and continued to update and reorganize its core six-cylinder offerings. At the top end of Chrysler's model range was the 8-cylinder CG Imperial, a premium model featuring a 145-inch wheelbase chassis, ideal for a wide array of factory-built Standard Line and coach built Custom Line bodies by LeBaron. Considered one of the best-proportioned and attractive automobiles of its era, the CG Imperial's basic styling was penned by Al Leamy, the self-taught design genius responsible for Cord's L-29. As with the L-29, the CG Imperial was low and long, featuring gracefully swept fenders and a striking vee-shaped chrome radiator shell. All Chryslers had a well-deserved reputation for performance, and the CG Imperial's 385 cubic-inch "straight eight" delivered, with its robust 125 horsepower rating. Their smooth four-speed synchromesh transmission, four-point engine mounts, hydraulic brakes, well-tuned suspension, and advanced steering geometry ensured that they were refined, with a surprisingly easy and comfortable experience. Introduced in July 1931, the CG Imperial was only produced through that December, with a few completed as 1932 models. According to marque experts, 3,228 CG Imperials were produced in all.

Subsequently, it joined another esteemed prewar automobile collection and received its first body-off-frame restoration in 2005. The next owner acquired this CG Imperial, which already had a CCCA National First Prize Award to its credit, in 2007. Another restoration was commissioned in 2010, which included a paint refinish and the addition of a new convertible top, matching boot cover, and new side curtains, plus careful attention to fine details. Following this restoration, the CG Imperial earned a succession of honors, including the AACA Grand national First Prize, AACA Diamond Jubilee Award, and AACA Walter P. Chrysler Award, plus multiple Best in Class awards and numerous other accolades. Additionally, this CG Imperial served as the November photo subject for the 2012 AACA national calendar.

With the arrival of the MG A Roadster in 1955, MG's fiercely loyal buyers and marque enthusiasts were rewarded with a streamlined, modern body design and up-to-date B-series engine derived from the MG Magnette saloon. As early as 1951, however, MG enthusiasts received a foretaste of the car that would become the MG A when George Phillips drove a sleek rebodied MG TD at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A road version of Phillips' car was proposed to BMC brass in 1952 as a replacement for the old-fashioned MG TD, but initially rejected in favor of the planned production of the Austin-Healey 100. MG had even gone as far as building a full prototype of the MG A using TD running gear, a 1250 XPAG 4-cylinder engine, redesigned chassis, and new bodywork. By 1955, it was evident that the aging MG TF was overdue for replacement, with the MG A quickly introduced.
Before the official launch of the MG A in 1955, three aluminum-bodied prototype cars contested the 24 Hours of Le Mans and were quite successful, finishing the race fifth and sixth in class. As a result, when the MG A was launched shortly afterwards, the car already possessed an international racing pedigree, helping ensure the modern new model's immediate acceptance among MG traditionalists. The initial 1,500 cc engine specification was succeeded by an upsized 1,600 unit by 1959, featuring a useful power bump from 68 to 80 factory-rated horsepower and new Lockheed disc brakes up front. MG A production continued through 1962 until the advent of the all-new MG B.

When the Ford Motor Company entered the station wagon market, it quickly became the nation's acknowledged wagon-master. It was natural then that when the upscale Mercury line was introduced for 1939, a Mercury wagon would follow this came to fruition in 1941. Although the basic wagon bodies were the same, the Mercury used higher grade finishes, color-coordinated top fabric and all-leather interiors, and of course it had the larger Mercury engine. Accordingly, it sold at a higher price, $125 above the Super Deluxe Ford.
Wood for the station wagons came from Henry Ford's forests in northern Michigan. By 1940, Ford operations at Iron Mountain oversaw all body operations. It was there at Iron Mountain that the wood was cut, shaped, and assembled into the iconic bodies.
From the first year of production for the Woody Wagon, the top-of-the-line Mercury featured here was part of the Nick Alexander Woodie Collection. Acquired in 1998 from Roy Perle of New Haven, Connecticut, Alexander picked the car up himself and drove it cross-country to California. Restored to Finished to Alexander's exacting standards and painted Cayuga Blue over red leather upholstery, the car has retained its Iron Mountain Birch wood body and sheet metal. In Alexander's ownership, this Mercury earned a Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V-8 Club. The wagon joined the collection of the current owner in August of 2009.
Remaining local to the Monterey Bay Area for the past baker's dozen years, it has lap belts installed for the front seats and black rubber mats front and rear. Comfort features include dual outside mirrors, an AM radio, and a heater. A file of records from the current ownership shows maintenance completed on the car including a recent service last month to recommission the car after a period of limited use.

Introduced at the 2005 New York International Auto Show for a 2006-model year launch, the Mercedes-Benz R-Class was a highly versatile mid-size luxury MPV. Fascinating development of the R-Class was encouraged by the success of Mercedes' smaller A- and B-Class MPVs, with Mercedes-Benz collaborating with coachbuilder Stola on a concept vehicle, the Vision GST, at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show, followed by the Vision R debuted at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show. The R-Class was manufactured in Vance, Alabama, until 2015, when production moved Mishawaka, Indiana, with lower-volume production until 2017.
Accompanied by a detailed VIN decoding, this 2007 Mercedes-Benz R350 left the factory finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) paint over Gray MB-Tex simulated leather upholstery. As expected, features and options are numerous, including the panoramic glass sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors, to name just a few.
Delivered new to California in mid-2007, this R350 remained there until 2025 with three successive owners, accumulating only an approximate 48,500 miles. IN May, 2025, the Mercedes was acquired by a new owner in Washington. Based on a modified TrailBlazer EXT frame with hydroformed steel side rails, the SSR was initially powered by GM?s 300-horsepower Vortec 5300 V-8 engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Underpinnings included rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, control-arm front suspension, and a five-link rear setup. A breathtaking styling and technology demonstrator, the SSR was unfortunately a victim of the early-2000s economic recession and produced briefly through 2006.

Based on Chrysler?s versatile 'LX' vehicle platform, the boldly styled Dodge Magnum was, in essence, a Grand Touring-flavored station wagon variant of the upscale Chrysler 300. Following General Motors' stylistic revolution, which began in 1927 with the hiring of Harley Earl and his establishment of the "Art and Colour" Department, the industrial giant's Cadillac Motor Division immediately redefined automotive design. Cadillac's engineering prowess also reached a high-water mark with the company's V-8 models joined by the V-16 for 1930 and the V-12 for 1931. In fact, no other automaker on either side of the Atlantic could lay claim to offering a full range of V-8, V-12, and V-16 model lines all at once. In 1931, while the nation was deep in the throes of the widening Great Depression and sales of luxury cars were in freefall, Cadillac forged ahead in its quest to dominate the U.S. luxury car market, and the new V-12 line was a key factor in the plan.
Renowned as one of the smoothest-running and silent engines ever produced, the Cadillac V-12 chassis was available in 140- and 143-inch wheelbase lengths. Internally designated Series 370-A, Cadillac's V-12 line was introduced in September 1930, priced from $3,795 during the inaugural 1931 model year. A wide range of 10 body styles was catalogued from GM's Fisher and Fleetwood body divisions, supplemented by a vast array of custom bodies from external firms. Fleetwood's renowned craftsmen fitted the interiors for all V-12 models.
This dashing 1931 Cadillac Model 370-A V-12 Five-Passenger Phaeton is a wonderfully restored and well-preserved example throughout. One of just 128 examples produced with Style No. 4760 coachwork by Fleetwood was part of the renowned classic car collection of Dr. Barbara Mae Atwood for many years until her cars were dispersed in early 2009. Most recently, it was under the care of the noted Bill and Patty Spurling Collection.
Riding a commanding 140-inch wheelbase chassis, this Series 370-A V-12 Five-Passenger Phaeton carries a decidedly sporting presence with its outstandingly proportioned open body accentuated by a "Jazz Age" Orange paint finish with Brown fenders, and Dark Brown cloth convertible top with Light Brown piping. The renowned 368 cubic-inch Cadillac V-12 engine is exceptionally well detailed and features Black porcelain and polished components, a signature Cadillac feature of the era. A synchromesh 3-speed manual transmission delivers the V-12 powerplant's power and abundant torque output.
In addition to the captivating dual-cowl Phaeton bodywork, highlights include the aircraft-style folding rear windshield, which folds and lowers into the rear passenger compartment. Period accessories are many, ranging from the Pilot-Ray accessory lights, which swivel with a link to the steering gear, plus a chrome radiator grille guard, Cadillac's Art Deco "Goddess" radiator mascot, and front-fender lights. Twin side-mounted spare tires in steel carriers grace each side of the Cadillac's long hood and include engraved chrome side view mirrors. Moving rearwards, accessories include cowl lights and wind wings on each side. To the rear, an access panel, a folding luggage rack, a trunk, and twin taillights are present. Period-style Whitewall tires surround Brown-painted wire-spoke wheels matching the finish on the fenders.
The spacious passenger compartment is trimmed in Tan leather upholstery with Light Brown carpeting and includes convenient storage pockets inside each door panel. The visually striking engine-turned dashboard houses useful instrumentation, housed within a central oval-shaped bezel. The rear passenger compartment includes twin folding footrests and courtesy lighting. In addition to the cloth convertible top, weather gear includes a complete set of side curtains, housed within a storage pouch. A toolkit is also present. The introduction of the 5th Generation or 'C5' Corvette for 1997 marked the first all-new model in 13 years. A comprehensive refinement of "America's Sports Car", the C5 featured a new chassis and a milestone evolution of Chevrolet's small-block V-8 engine. The design team, led by Dave Hill and John Cafaro, systematically addressed every shortcoming of the fourth-generation Corvette and improved, if not eliminated, all of them in the C5.
Engines have always defined Corvettes, but perhaps no engine has so comprehensively defined the car's evolution as the 1997 LS1. Its similarity with the original Corvette small block began and ended with its basic layout. The new aluminum engine featured an integral cast aluminum oil pan, composite intake manifold, individual-coil ignition system, and a hollow camshaft design. Delivering 345 factory-rated horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, the LS1 was a more than worthy successor to the previous design.
The C5 chassis featured a noticeably longer wheelbase length and hydroformed side rails that improved rigidity and reduced weight. Corvette engineers worked with GM's Hydra-Matic division and Borg-Warner to create rear transaxles with four speeds in the electronically managed automatic and six speeds in the manual gearbox, providing an ideal 50/50 weight distribution.

The 1962 model year was the last for the Corvette's first generation. Select styling updates added sophistication, and Chevrolet's "small block" V-8 engine lineup delivered greater performance across the board with a displacement increase to 327 CI and four levels of tune. In particular, the Code 396 340-horsepower, 327 cubic-inch V-8 engine powered 4,412 Corvettes for '62, providing much of the performance of the legendary "Fuelie" with a simpler 4-barrel carburetor. Best of all, the 340-horsepower 327 was a screaming bargain for savvy buyers, adding just $107.60 to the Corvette's base pricing.
The Corvette was easier and more enjoyable to drive than ever before, and buyers agreed, with 1962 sales reaching 14,531 cars, an increase of nearly one-third over 1961. Thanks to Zora Arkus-Duntov and his Corvette engineers, a succession of high-performance options and parts supported Corvette owners and racers, even as the upcoming 1963 Sting Ray was readied for production.
Sporting Roman Red paint over a Red interior, this fully matching-numbers 1962 Corvette features the potent 340-horsepower, 327 cubic-inch V-8 engine, with power delivery via a 4-speed manual transmission and Positraction 3.70:1 rear axle. This Corvette was formerly located in Wyoming, where it was inspected in late 2025 by former NCRS 1961-62 Master Judge Mike Ernst, with his report included with the sale of the vehicle.
According to Mr. Ernst's detailed report, all of this Corvette's major components, from the engine to the transmission, differential, generator, water pump, distributor, starter, and carburetor, appear to be the original components that were factory-installed." Further, according to Mr. Ernst, the Corvette's frame and suspension components suggest that before restoration, this Corvette was "either a summer-only driver, or a car that spent the majority of its life in a dry-weather, no-salt area." Regarding the body, Mr. Ernst stated he "could find no evidence of any previous bodywork; all bonding strips are in place, and it appears to have never been damaged." He also believed the car was originally painted red, based on factory overspray remaining underneath the cowl vent.
Physical evidence suggests the Corvette was never equipped with a removable hardtop. The nearly unobtainable jack, jack handle, and lug wrench are noted by Mr. Ernst to appear to be factory original items. A difficult-to-find GM trunk mat is an over-the-counter GM item. The accurately restored engine compartment features all proper components, including several reproduction items that nonetheless look and fit as original.

As one of the final expressions of Bill Mitchell's time as head of GM's famed styling studios, a position he held since he was Harley Earl's handpicked successor in 1958, the 1971-78 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado of the 1970s never fails to draw attention. Continuing the basic styling theme introduced for 1971 but updated by 1975 with bold blade-type front fenders, quad rectangular headlamps, and other revisions, the 1975-78 Eldorado was a huge sales success and stands as a landmark GM design.
As tightening government regulations threatened the existence of the beloved convertible in North America, the 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado is probably best remembered as the last American production car to be offered with a convertible body style during the 1970s. When the final Eldorado Convertible rolled off the production line on April 21, 1976, most industry observers believed there would likely never again be another American production convertible. Advertised for 1976 as the "only convertible built in America," the Cadillac Eldorado was sold as a legend-to-be and a future collectible.
Based upon a commanding 126.3-inch wheelbase chassis, the Fleetwood Eldorado exemplified wealth and style like no other automobile of the era. Befitting its top-of-the-line stature, the Eldorado's mechanical specifications were quite sophisticated to match, including the last use of Cadillac?s proprietary 500 cubic-inch V-8 engine, plus front-wheel drive (introduced for 1967), four-wheel disc brakes, and optional Bendix electronic fuel injection. Priced from $11,049 when new, the 1976 Eldorado Convertible was popular and truly marked the end of an era.

Introduced to America for 2004, the Phaeton represented one of the most ambitious moves in Volkswagen history.
