From humble 40 bhp VW-derived origins, the Porsche 356 was relentlessly developed into one of the greatest Giant Killer sports cars of all time. The final of its numerous iterations arrived in 1963, with the 356 C. Utilizing the revised Type 6 body first seen on late B models, the C ushered in numerous refinements to the steering and suspension, along with four-wheel disc brakes and 12-volt electrics. Two pushrod engine options were offered the standard 75 horsepower, or the hot "SC" version, rated at 95 bhp from 1,600 cc via high compression pistons, a special counterweighted crankshaft, and Solex carburetors. With punchy performance and a highly developed chassis, the 356SC stands among the most desirable and collectible iterations of the timelessly cool 356.

This beautiful Signal Red SC is a highly attractive and wonderfully sorted example that is one of a reported 588 Reutter Cabriolets from 1965. According to historian Dr. Brett Johnson, Porsche produced only 485 Type 616/16 SC engines in total that year, making this a very rare car, indeed. A copy of the Kardex on file shows this car was delivered in March of 1965 via Skand Motors in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Miss Tangley Campbell Lloyd, an American student studying abroad. Miss Lloyd?s Porsche left the factory as it is presented here, finished in Signal Red with black leather upholstery, and equipped with a Becker Europa, two speakers, antenna, outside mirror, and a luggage rack.

With just four documented owners from new, this outstanding Cabriolet has lived a charmed life, never requiring restoration or rust repair. Instead, it has simply been maintained and freshened cosmetically with a very high quality repaint in its original color and a new canvas top and headliner. The body fit is outstanding, noted especially in the doors which shut with a solidity that the best unrestored cars seem to retain.

Inside, the front seats have been reupholstered in black leather to factory specs and are in excellent condition. The rear seats, door cards and interior panels appear original and exceptionally well-preserved. Charcoal square weave carpets also look to be original and are in similarly excellent condition with only a couple small imperfections noted on inspection. The tidy front trunk houses the spare wheel, factory jack, and a factory tool kit.

The 1600 cc engine bears serial number 813770, which corresponds to the Kardex and warranty book as the original, numbers-matching unit, and falling within the correct range for an SC from 1965. The engine was rebuilt during prior ownership, and the original Solex carburetors have been swapped out for Webers. It shows signs of use with an honest, authentic look to the engine bay.

From behind the wheel, this car feels even healthier than its 95hp might suggest. It proved its mettle on the 1,500-mile Ramshorn Rally in Montana, performing extremely well on the challenging mountain roads putting its light weight to good use and showing a clean pair of heels to some far more potent 911s!

The dual-purpose nature of Ferrari's early models meant that many owners could be cruising the streets of Milano one day, and carving the twisting, grueling lanes of the Mille Miglia the next, and with any luck, be back to the Autostrada by Monday. Italy's most celebrated coachbuilders clothed customer 212s in a variety of body styles ranging from light and sinuous barchettas to luxurious coupes and cabriolets.

Chassis number 0147E is a 1951 212 Inter, one of just 36 chassis originally bodied by Vignale, and boasting a fascinating, unique history. First delivered to Siro Sbraci of Firenze, Italy, it was originally fitted with coupe coachwork by Carrozzeria Vignale. Sbraci was a gentleman racer active in Italy for about a decade starting in the late 1940s, beginning at the helm of a little Ermini 1100 Sport, which he ran at the Mille Miglia and other Italian national events through 1950. In 1952, he upped his game with the purchase of 0147E the 2.6-liter V12 Ferrari undoubtedly being quite the upgrade from the Fiat 1100-based Ermini!

At the wheel of his new Ferrari, Sbraci placed 3rd overall at the Fiesole hillclimb in Firenze in April, followed very shortly after by entry into the Mille Miglia in early May. Sharing duties with Sante Guidici and running car number 559, s/n 0147E unfortunately logged a DNF. Looking for more power, Sbraci later had the engine upgraded with three carburetors by Garage La Rotonda in Firenze. The upgrade paid dividends, with a class win coming at the 1953 Coppa della Toscana, and 2nd at the Vermicino hillclimb. In March of 1954, Sbraci sold his 212, later moving to more specialized machinery including a Maserati A6GCS and Ferrari 500 TRC.

Gino Casarotto of Venezia was the next owner of 0147E. He continued to campaign the car at local events, including the Coppa della Toscana, Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti, and the crown jewel of Italian motorsport the Mille Miglia, which again ended prematurely in a DNF. The Ferrari traded hands again in 1955, and twice in 1956, ending up with Piero Cattelan.

From here, the history of 0147E takes an intriguing turn. It is not known if the car was Cattelan's at the time, but sometime around late 1961, it was turned over to Piero Drogo's Carrozzeria Sports Cars in Modena for a new lease on life. By this time, the rigors of motorsport would have undoubtedly shown on the original Vignale body, and perhaps the new owner was after a more contemporary look. This is certainly not a unique occurrence, as many Ferrari owners over the years particularly during this renaissance period of Italian coachbuilding commissioned new coachwork to modernize or personalize their cars.

Drogo was tasked with building a completely new alloy body in the style of Scaglietti's 250 California Spider, which was first seen just a few years before in 1957. Drogo re-skinned 0147E, deftly proportioning the design to accommodate the 212 Inter's chassis dimensions.

Piero Drogo's Carrozzeria Sports Cars was subcontractor that played an integral role in Ferrari lore. Based near the Ferrari factory, the firm served both customer teams and Scuderia Ferrari. Drogo was known for their work with aerodynamics and were tasked with re-shaping many competition Ferraris for high-speed duty. Cars like the wild 250 SWB Breadvan, the Garage Francorchamps 250 SWB, and long-nose variant of the works 1965 250 LM are among Drogo's many famous creations. The great Giotto Bizzarrini was a fan of their work, calling upon Drogo to build the bodies for the first run of Iso Grifo A3C models. Most famously however, Carrozzeria Drogo served as the official coachbuilder of Scuderia Ferrari for a glorious period between 1966 and 1967, crafting the bodies for the stunning 206SP, 330 P3, and 412P arguably among the most beautiful sports racing cars of the 60s, if not of all time.

Historians discovered photos of 0147E in bare alloy parked on Drogo workshop forecourt in the early 1960s, verifying the history of the unique coachwork. Additionally, there are photos of the car in its original guise at the Mille Miglia, linked together with Italian registration documents on file. The next notable owner was Count Giovanni 'Johnny' Lurani Cernuschi, himself a successful racer, having run the Mille Miglia no fewer than 11 times, winning his class three times, and famously sharing a Works MG K3s in 1933. Following a crash in a Maserati 4CM, he focused on sports car racing through the 1950s, taking a class win at LeMans in 1951 in a Lancia B20 GT. In retirement, Count Johnny Lurani became a significant player in European motorsport governance, influencing Formula Junior, motorbike racing, and founding several Italian motoring magazines.

Count Lurani then sold 0147E to fellow Italian Corrado Cupellini, before the car went to the UK, where it spent the late 60s into the early 70s. In 1973, it came to the United States with Dr. Raymond E. Boniface of Youngstown, Ohio, who owned the car for three decades having it restored in the early 1990s, and the engine rebuilt by Wayne Obry in 1998. In 2004, it was in the care of a West Coast Ferrari collector and enthusiast who used it extensively in Ferrari Historic Challenge events, putting the punchy 2.6-liter 212 to very good use. It found new hands with a private collector in 2007, who continued to show and race the car with great enthusiasm in the Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge, and at the Cavallino Classic at Palm Beach Raceway in 2012, 2013, and 2014. While dressed in a svelte California Spider suit, a prod of the starter reveals the 2,562cc Colombo V12's race bred roots, firing to life with a magnificent snarl that feels edgier and more eager than the 250 California Spider which inspired its looks.

This wonderful and unique Ferrari has had a relatively low profile recently, and the pleasingly mellowed older restoration remains very attractive thanks to regular expert care. The well documented history is backed by a FIVA Passport, which opens up entry into a wide range of historic events worldwide, while it is prime for continued enjoyment in club gatherings or select concours events where its fascinating story can be showcased.

With a mere 36 examples produced, the availability of one of the Vignale 212s presents a rare opportunity for collectors. Chassis 0147E adds to the appeal as a two-time Mille Miglia entrant with period race history, ownership by an Italian motorsport legend, and a beautiful one-off alloy body by one Scuderia Ferrari's favored carrozzerie, Piero Drogo.

In the early 1950s, AC Cars Ltd was looking to spice up their image with a new sports car. It so happened that a talented engineer named John Tojeiro had a small garage down the street from AC's Thames Ditton factory, where he was building beautiful and successful sports racers. One of those cars in particular, the 1952 Tojeiro-Bristol Special, caught the eye of AC Cars bosses.

AC hired Tojeiro, charging him with the design of a new production sports car, using the Bristol Special as inspiration. The beautiful little roadster had hints of Ferrari's sublime 166 Touring Barchetta in its shape, with Bristol's BMW-derived 2-liter inline six under the bonnet. Tojeiro applied his racing experience to the road car, outfitting the twin tube chassis with all-independent suspension a first for a British sports car. The beautiful Ace roadster debuted at the 1953 Earls Court Motor Show, with AC's venerable overhead-cam 1,991-cc inline-six as standard, with the Bristol-sourced 2-liter six coming later as an option.

In 1955 the pretty Ace roadster was joined by the equally lovely two-seat fixed-head Aceca Coupe, which brought such niceties as roll-up windows, improved sound insulation, and a useful boot beneath a novel opening rear hatch. Performance was nearly identical to the open car, and the lovely flowing roof blended seamlessly with the roadster's lines. The 100hp six endowed the Aceca with respectable performance, and drivers then and now recognize it as one of the finest handling road cars of the period.

Originally delivered in right drive to a home-market buyer, 'AE650' is one of just 151 Acecas powered by the venerable 1,991cc AC six. Previously published records reveal this car left the Thames Ditton factory on April 23, 1958, finished in Bright Blue with beige upholstery. Past DVLA registration documents list previous owners Henry Moon of Bedford, and David Still of Chichester, and in 1986, it was offered for sale by the respected UK dealer Nigel Dawes. The Aceca eventually found a new American owner, making its way across the pond to land in Texas. The Aceca eschews fussy detailing, as AE650 so aptly demonstrates with its simple chrome bumperettes and silver painted wire wheels. The vibrant red paint is in outstanding condition, and in recent ownership, the seats have been reupholstered in black leather and black Wilton wool carpets fitted. AE650 is very well sorted mechanically and is a veteran of two 1,000-mile rallies while it still looks beautifully crisp and fit for concours display.

The MGA hit the scene in 1955 marking the end of the beloved, but outdated T-Series. The pretty little MGA was fresh and modern, with new fully enveloped styling and the classic British sportscar simplicity. Powering the A was a robust 1500 (later 1600) BMC B-Series inline four, initially rated at 68bhp, which gave the lightweight roadster respectable zip. But engineers at MG were eager to inject more serious performance into the new car, with the hope of returning the marque to the world stage of motorsport. They devised a twin overhead-cam cylinder head atop a high-compression, modified B-series block, raising output up to 108 bhp and transforming the docile MGA into a proper sports car. In conjunction with the boost in power, the Twin Cam got four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes and beautiful Dunlop pin-drive alloy wheels similar to the Jaguar D-Type. Beyond the wheels and the subtle Twin-Cam? badges, there was little to differentiate it from the standard MGA until you got behind the wheel, of course!

Just 1,788 Twin Cam roadsters built during the short production run, including this 1959 example. Restored under previous ownership and finished to a standard rarely seen on these cars, it is a particularly outstanding Twin Cam that is truly a joy to drive. According to the accompanying BMIHT Certificate, this is an original left-drive car, completed in February of 1959 and delivered new to the USA. It left the factory finished in Orient Red over a black interior, equipped with sliding side screens, plus the standard disc brakes and Dunlop wheels.
The previous owner reported that this car spent many years on the West Coast and particularly in New Mexico, and was therefore a remarkably solid, virtually rust-survivor when he had it professionally restored. He elected to refinish the car in this classic combination of British Racing Green over a dark tan leather interior, and it is reasonable to suggest this car is restored to better-than-new standards, with excellent panel fit, paintwork, and an emphasis on driving enjoyment. The seats are trimmed in supple tan leather, with matching door cards, dash, and cockpit rails. The odometer shows approximately 1,900 miles, believed to be the mileage covered since its restoration. Attesting to its quality, little more than minor adjustments were required when it arrived in our care.

For those familiar with standard MGAs, driving this marvelous Twin Cam is a revelation. The engine revs freely and pulls eagerly through the gears, with a fizzy character that feels rather more Italian than traditionally British. The agile and featherlight chassis allows the little MGA to keep up with bigger guns on a twisty road especially with the Dunlop disc brakes - while the quality and integrity of this car?s restoration shine through with each passing mile.

Suitable for spirited driving on rallies and touring events, this marvelous and rare Twin Cam MGA punches above its weight and will undoubtedly offer its next custodian many miles of pure, unfiltered driving joy.

Alfa Romeo took a break from racing on the international stage at the end of the 1953 season.
For nearly a decade, the racing world did not hear much from the manufacturer.

1964 saw the creation of Autodelta, an autonomous competition department. Led by Ing. Carlo Chiti. They started small, competing with modified production models. This went on for two years. In 1967 Alfa and Autodelta joined together to create a purpose-built racer, the Tipo 33. That designation would last for years to come, even though the racer would change in myriad ways.

The Tipo 33 came to its pinnacle in the form of the flat 12 engine TT 12. The season opener at Monza saw Mario Andretti paired with Arturo Merzario. The duo took Alfa to a 1,2,3 finish. Matra took the world championship that year with Alfa nipping at its heels.

1975 saw the Tipo 33 TT 12 take wins at Dijon, Monza, Spa, and Watkins Glenn. The Alfas also won both the Osterreichring and Nurburgring, as well as the Targa Florio. Clinching the 1975 World Championship.

AR11512 *007* was wheeled by Jacky Ickx and Rolf Stommelen to second place in the Alfa 1,2,3 train at the 74 Monza. Shortly after, it was Stommelen and Reutemann piloting the Alfa to a second place at Imola.

At the end of the season, *007* was gifted to Jacky Ickx and went into his private collection.
In the mid-80s,* 007*, along with some other important race cars, were traded into the growing collection of Jaques Setton, a collector who only accepted the best of the best.

Other than being an Alfa Romeo, something else sets *007* apart. It is totally intact, which is highly unusual for a race car. *007* retains all its original parts including body panels, engine, transmission, brakes and suspension; not reconstituted from spare parts. It has had some sympathetic upgrades to allow it to continue to compete in classic events. The very fragile magnesium timing cover has been replaced, and the radiators have been redesigned to ensure maximum cooling. Engine, transmission, brakes and suspension have been recently rebuilt.

This Alfa Tipo 33 flat 12 would be an important addition to any serious collection having made racecar history and achieved World Championship of Makes victory in 1975. It joins the pantheon of other flat 12 racing cars of the era, including the Ferrari 312 PB and the Porsche 917.

It is rare to find a racing warhorse that made so much history and still retains all of its originality. With three owners and a well-documented provenance from its inception, it is ready for its next qualified owner to release the banshee scream that was heard over the worlds race tracks in the past.

"Soprano Special"

A car as legendary as the Jaguar E-Type hardly needs an introduction. It is, after all, one of the world?s most beautiful production cars, with an enviable competition pedigree courtesy of its C-Type and D-Type progenitors. And while the E-Type is celebrated by enthusiasts worldwide, that doesn?t necessarily mean there isn?t room for improvement.

Offered here is a stunning example of one enthusiast?s lifelong passion for driving applied to Jaguar?s iconic sports car. Starting with an excellent, 40,000-mile 1974 E-Type Series III Roadster and a head full of ideas, this striking car has been meticulously transformed by Nick Soprano and his team into this stunning interpretation of the ultimate? twelve-cylinder E-Type for the road.
The transformation began by stripping the car to bare metal and subtly but extensively reprofiling the front wheel arches, bonnet, and grille, all in metal. The original federally mandated open headlight design was reshaped to accommodate glass covers in the style of the Series 1, and with LED lamps, the resulting look is fresh, yet captures the purity and beauty of Malcolm Sayer?s original design.

To complement the reworked styling, the car wears more delicate blade-type chrome bumpers and is fitted with a competition-style perforated grille. The large original side marker lamp assemblies were shaved and replaced with small LED units inspired by the jewel-like Giuntini signal lights used on Italian sports cars of the 60s, and discreet Soprano Sport? emblems added to the front wings. The matching removable hardtop looks particularly smart with this car?s reworked styling and subtly lowered stance, while affording it excellent all-season usability.

The Soprano Special E-Type?s performance is enhanced to suit the striking good looks. Jaguar?s V12 is a renowned unit with enormous performance potential, proven with two overall victories at Le Mans. This car?s 5.3-liter V12 does away with the original, restrictive intake and exhaust in favor of a sextet of downdraft Weber carburetors and gorgeous custom stainless-steel tubular headers feeding a full stainless system. The engine is now free to sing, and sing it does! From the induction roar of the Webers to the bark of the tailpipes, the soundtrack alone is enough to ignite a fire in any enthusiast?s heart. With an estimated 300+ horsepower, with sharpened responses courtesy of the lightened flywheel and clutch assembly, excitement is assured.

Rolling stock consists of 6.5-inch-wide deep-dish wire wheels, custom built by MWS in the UK. They are affixed by early style twin-ear knock offs, another subtle but effective Series 1-inspired touch. Further mechanical updates include a 5-speed Tremec gearbox, limited slip rear differential, alloy radiator, electronic ignition, overhauled brakes with new rear discs and calipers, and a high-torque starter. Spax adjustable dampers are fitted all around to improve handling without compromising the Series 3?s renowned, silky character.

True to its GT character, the cockpit is restored with select enhancements and a period-correct feel. Factory seats are re-trimmed in beautiful Cinnamon leather, accented with Wilton wool carpets, and the wood instrument panel trim nods to Jaguar saloons and coupes. A classic-style modern radio, factory air conditioning, and power steering ensure you stay fresh after the big miles this car was built to cover.

1966 Porsche 910-001
The 1966 Porsche 910-001 was the first of 28 910 racers constructed. It was considered to be Porsche's great leap forward into racecar development incorporating Formula 1-style cast magnesium center-lock wheels as well as many mechanical and chassis improvements gleaned from Porsche's previous racecar successes. The 910's development resulted in many overall weight savings improvement, including lighter bodywork, magnesium wheels, beryllium brake discs, titanium uprights, and incorporating part of the chassis as an oil circulation conduit.

This example was driven by Hans Hermann (Porsche-Le Mans winner 1970) in the Sierre-Montana-Crans hill climb, finishing 3rd. It was also used in extensive factory testing, resulting in improved performance of subsequent race car models. The car was then sold to its first owner Rudi Lins (a Porsche factory driver), who enjoyed many racing successes before passing the car onto the 2nd owner, an Austrian privateer. The extensive competition history of 001 is very well documented. It was then purchased by a private German racing enthusiast in 1994, who embarked on a comprehensive restoration ensuring accuracy and authenticity. 1970 Porsche 911S

In July 1968, Porsche introduced the first significant refinement to its successful flagship 911 resulting in vastly improved performance. To enhance high-speed stability, Porsche stretched the 911's wheelbase by 57mm (2 inches) by relocating the independently sprung rear wheels rearward within the body. While the wheelbase changed, the overall length and the engine positioning remained the same. Moving the rear wheels back and switching to a lighter magnesium crankcase helped even out weight distribution, while wider 6" wheels tucked under subtly flared wheel arches increased track and improved grip.

With the handling sorted, Porsche set its sights on the high-performance 911S. If heat transfer (as in the cylinder heads) or stiffness (as in the cam boxes) wasn't a requirement for an aluminum component of the 901/2 engine, then it was replaced with magnesium. Titanium alloy unprecedented in 1969 was chosen for connecting rods. Dual ignition delivered reliable, efficient combustion. The triple-throat Solex and Webers carbs gave way for a new Bosch mechanical fuel injection system, augmented by larger valves and more aggressive cam timing.

This 1970 911S 2.2 Coupe is an original US market car, finished from new in code 2424 Burgundy Metallic paint over a black leatherette interior. It is one of just 1,744 'S' coupes built in 1970 and, according to its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, came equipped with the comfort package and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. This 'slicktop' (no sunroof) 911 was treated to a bare-metal repaint and refurbishment in the early 1990s and has since been mechanically and cosmetically maintained in excellent condition. This is an attractive and well-sorted driver-quality car, ideal for enjoyment on high-speed rallies and tours, or simply for carving your favorite back roads after a stop at cars & coffee.

In preparation for sale, the original comfort-spec front seats were restored using period-correct basketweave leatherette. The dash, door cards, and carpets are in excellent condition, along with details like a factory leather wrapped steering wheel, and a slightly later aftermarket Blaupunkt cassette player in the dash. Additionally, the engine was serviced and detailed and has shown to be in strong running order. It is noted that the engine uses a period correct magnesium replacement block from a 1970 911 that has been rebuilt to S specifications. Accompanying items include owner's manuals and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
